Fix new tab behavior in Firefox 3.6 February 6, 2010

‘Open link in new tab’ is a feature I have ever used most in Firefox. I normally open many tabs in a certain order from left to right. A new tab will be basically added to the most-right side of the Firefox window. However, once I had updated from Firefox 3.5.7 to 3.6, the new tab was inserted just right next to the current tab by default. This new tab behavior is then such an annoying since I have to do reverse from what I am familiar with.

Here is a method to change it back to the most-right side style:

1. Enter “about:config” in the address bar and click “I’ll be careful, I promise!” button.
2. Enter “tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent” in the filter box.
3. Toggle to be “false” in order to disable such feature. (in order to enable it again, just change to be “true”)
